London Gay Tours offers this Christmas Bike Tour for those who wants to fill their London experience with festive cheer. Wrap up warm and grab a bike to follow our friendly guide through bustling Christmas markets, Hyde Park’s spectacular Winter Wonderland and Central London’s most extravagant light display.
The tour will go at a slow pace, with plenty of time to stop for photographs, so bring your camera! As the sun goes down, the lights go on, and the atmosphere comes alive. Your guide will take you on quieter streets and cycle paths through Christmas markets, past the chimes of Big Ben and into the back streets of Kensington and Chelsea. Here you will cycle through rows of quiet streets, seeing how the other half live in some of London’s richest and prettiest areas. Sloane Square is a beautifully lit up shopping area that we pass through on our way to the iconic Harrod’s building, lit up with over 10,000 bulbs.
A hop, roll and a jump away is Hyde Park, and Winter Wonderland, London’s Christmas attraction that people come from far and wide to see. We then follow the long straight cycleways of Hyde Park and into The West End, where London really electrifies. Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, and Covent Garden will impress you on a normal day, but doused in Christmas luminosity, you will be gobsmacked! We stop briefly at Hamley’s, the world’s oldest toy store, where you will have the chance to go inside for a browse.
We then get back on the bikes and pedal through Soho, Seven Dials and Covent Garden. Returning over Waterloo Bridge you see the whole city twinkling before you, and rekindle your spirited memories of the last 3 hours back at the base, sharing your photographs and happy Christmases all round!
